Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Johnny Damon led off the game with a homer, starting a five-run inning, and the Yankees got a break during a four-run ninth to beat the Blue Jays, 10-5, and avoid a three-game sweep at Rogers Centre.Jason Giambi drove in three runs and Robinson Cano went 4-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI for New York, which snapped a five-game skid. Josh Phelps had a two-run single in the victory, but the Yankees remained tied with Tampa Bay for last place in the AL East, 13 1/2 games behind first-place Boston.
Tyler Clippard (2-1) allowed four hits, including a pair of homers, and three runs over five innings to get the victory. The rookie right-hander also walked five and struck out three, and Mariano Rivera recorded the final four outs for his fourth save of the season, but his first since May 3rd.
