England's Soccer: Beckham gets England recall from McClaren

London, England (Sports Network) - David Beckham will be back with England for next week's friendly against Brazil and the team's big EURO 2008 qualifier against Estonia on June 6. The former England captain was left off the team by current coach Steve McClaren following the World Cup, but McClaren has had a change of heart due in large part to a number of quality performances for Real Madrid in recent weeks by Beckham. The 32-year-old midfielder has 94 caps for his career but he will not get back the captain's armband, which now belongs to defender John Terry. It was thought that McClaren might have picked Beckham for a pair of EURO 2008 qualifiers in March, but Beckham was unavailable for selection because of injury, making the decision easy.
Ashley Cole, Gary Neville, Andrew Johnson, Micah Richards, Owen Hargreaves and Ben Foster will all miss the upcoming contest due to injury, while Wayne Rooney will not take part in the Brazil match and miss the Estonia contest due to suspension.
