Formula 1: Massa upsets Alonso for pole in Spain

Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) - Ferrari's Felipe Massa edged hometown favorite Fernando Alonso to capture the pole for Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya. The No.5 Ferrari driver circled the 2.875-mile road circuit in one minute, 21.421 seconds.

The pole victory was Massa's third of the season and fifth of his Formula One career. The Brazilian has won the last three poles.
