MLB: Harang goes the distance as Reds down Astros
Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Aaron Harang tossed the ninth complete game of his career as the Cincinnati Reds downed the helpless Houston Astros, 4-3, in the middle portion of a three-game set at Minute Maid Park.
Harang (6-2) was charged with three runs -- two earned -- on six hits with seven strikeouts. Harang led the majors last season with six complete games. He is also the fourth different Cincinnati pitcher to toss a complete game this season.
Alex Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored while Norris Hooper had three hits and scored twice for the Reds, who have won three straight.
Wandy Rodriguez (2-5) dropped his second straight start as he gave up three runs on seven hits in five innings of work for the Astros, who have now dropped 10 straight games.
Carlos Lee went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Houston, which is one loss away from the club record set from August 17-28, 1995, when the team dropped 11 straight.
