Soccer: Hanson sues Nabarro for negligence over Man United deal
London, England (Sports Network) - The Times reports that Hanson, the UK cement maker being bought by German rival HeidelbergCement, is suing its former lawyers for negligence over advice they gave on a property deal with Manchester United.
Hanson, which agreed to the 7.85 billion takeover last week, has issued a High Court claim for 691,000 against Nabarro, one of the Citys leading real estate law firms.
The cement maker - which is claiming negligence and breach of contract - alleges that it suffered a financial loss as direct result of shoddy advice given by Nabarro while trying to terminate a property deal with the wealthy Premiership football club.
