MLB: Nats re-acquire Speigner from Twins

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Washington Nationals have re-acquired pitcher Levale Speigner from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for outfielder Darnell McDonald.
Speigner was selected by the Nationals from Minnesota in the Rule 5 draft and was 2-3 with an 8.78 earned run average in 19 games, including six starts, this season before Washington designated him for assignment on June 19.
The Nationals had to offer the 26-year-old right-hander back to Minnesota, which accepted and worked out a deal to send him back to Washington.
Speigner will be assigned to Triple-A Columbus.
McDonald, who signed with Washington as a minor league free agent last November, was hitting .315 with two homers and 41 runs batted in for Columbus.
