MLB: Orioles' Loewen to have season-ending surgery
Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Baltimore Orioles pitcher Adam Loewen has opted to have season-ending surgery on his left elbow after visiting with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday
The left-hander spent a month trying to rehab from a stress fracture, but it was ultimately determined that surgery was the best course of action.
Loewen, the fourth overall pick in the 2002 draft, was 2-0 with a 3.56 ERA in six starts this season.
He is expected to be ready for Spring Training next season.
