NFL: Broncos acquire DT Kennedy
St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The Denver Broncos acquired defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy from the St. Louis Rams for an undisclosed draft in the 2008 NFL Draft.
Kennedy had been a disappointment in St. Louis since being taken with the 12th overall selection in the 2003 NFL Draft. Kennedy has totaled just 149 tackles and four sacks in 53 career games.
"We want to thank Jimmy for the contributions he made during his time here," Rams head coach Scott Linehan said. "After evaluating the young players we've brought in the last month and talking to our defensive coaching staff we felt the time was right to make this move."
To make room for Kennedy on their roster, the Broncos waived cornerback Eric Hill.
