NFL: Steelers ink DT Hoke
Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday signed veteran defensive tackle Chris Hoke to a three-year contract extension through 2010.
Hoke has appeared in 45 games, 11 of which he started, having originally signed with the club as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Brigham Young in 2001.
Starting 10 games at nose tackle for injured starter Casey Hampton in 2004, Hoke had his best season with 27 tackles and two sacks for the Steelers, who led the NFL in rushing and total defense.
