WTA: Henin completes hat trick at Roland Garros

Paris, France (Sports Network) - Justine Henin easily outmatched seventh- seeded Ana Ivanovic, winning 6-1, 6-2 to capture her third-straight French Open title on Saturday.

Henin, the top-seed and world No. 1, recovered from a shaky start to win her sixth major championship, including four of the last five French Open titles. She became the first three-peat champion here since Monica Seles accomplished the feat from 1990-92.

The 25-year-old also extended her winning streak to 35 sets at Roland Garros, an Open Era record.

The 19-year-old Ivanovic, who became the first-ever Serb to reach a Grand Slam final, appeared ready to seriously challenge Henin after the Belgian dropped her first serve on a double fault.

Henin, though, bounced right back, breaking Ivanovic's next three serves to cruise to the first set victory. Ivanovic finally earned her first service point in the second set to pull within 1-2, but it was not enough to generate any momentum as Henin won in a mere 65 minutes.

Henin appeared in her fifth final in her last five Grand Slam events. She performed in all four major title bouts last year (1-3) before missing this year's Australian Open due to personal reasons.

The diminutive star takes home just over $1.3 million, while Ivanovic will pocket $667,000.
