WTA: Molik, Santangelo capture women's doubles title in Paris

Paris, France (Sports Network) - Australian Alicia Molik and Italian Mara Santangelo paired to capture the 2007 French Open women's doubles championship on Friday.
The 17th-seeded tandem of Molik-Santangelo secured its first-ever Grand Slam title by upsetting a seventh-seeded duo of Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik and Japanese Ai Sugiyama 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 at Roland Garros. Molik and Santangelo reached the final by ousting a second-seeded pairing of Zimbabwe's Cara Black and South African Liezel Huber.
Sugiyama was also on the losing team here a year ago, when she and Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova succumbed to American Lisa Raymond and Aussie Samantha Stosur. Srebotnik and Sugiyama stunned Raymond and Stosur in the semifinals this week.
Molik and Santangelo will split $385,000.
