Nets sign first-round pick Williams
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets signed first-round draft pick Sean Williams on Monday.
Terms of the deal for the troubled forward were not released.
Williams was the 17th overall pick in the most recent NBA Draft. The 6-foot-10 forward played 69 games in three seasons at Boston College, leading the team in blocks each season.
As a junior in 2006-07, he played in and started 15 games, averaging 12.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.0 blocks, while setting a school record with 75 blocks.
He was dismissed from the team for continuous violations of team rules, causing his draft stock to drop.
