Auto Racing: Kenseth steals Busch pole from Wimmer

Concord, NC (Sports Network) - Matt Kenseth went out 46th of 47 drivers and grabbed the pole from Scott Wimmer for Saturday night's Carquest Auto Parts at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. The No.17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford driver circled the 1.5-mile speedway in 30.090 seconds.
The pole victory was Kenseth's first this year and 13th of his Busch career.
Starting next to Kenseth on the front row will be Wimmer, who missed his first career Busch Series pole by just 0.029 seconds.
Greg Biffle (30.230) and Jeff Burton (30.247) will make up row two.
In the championship "race," its all about Carl Edwards (starting 10th). The No.60 Roush Ford driver leads the series by 433 over Kevin Harvick and 599 over third-place David Reutimann. Edwards is tied for the series lead with two wins and owns a series-high eight top-fives to go with 11 top-10 finishes in the season's first 12 races.
Edwards is also the defending Carquest Auto Parts 300 winner. He beat Kurt Busch to the 2006 finish line by a comfortable 2.458 seconds.
The race is scheduled to drop the green flag at 8:00 p.m. (et).
