Champions PGA: Seve out of Senior PGA
Kiawah Island, SC (Sports Network) - Seve Ballesteros, who made his Champions Tour debut last week, withdrew from the Senior PGA Championship due to personal reasons.
Ballesteros, a five-time major winner who has been out of golf the past several years due to various back ailments, tied for last place last week at the Regions Charity Classic, his first tournament on the over-50 circuit.
Ballesteros' major debut on the Champions Tour would have come at a familiar venue, the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. He played on the 1991 European Ryder Cup team at this site and went 4-0-1.
Mike Donald will replace Ballesteros in the field.
