LPGA: Sorenstam coming back next week at her event
Mt. Pleasant, SC (Sports Network) - Annika Sorenstam will return to action from a back and neck injury next week at the Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika at RiverTowne Country Club.
Sorenstam has not played since the Kraft Nabisco Championship in early April. She had disc problems in both her back and neck, which caused her to miss the Ginn Open almost a month ago.
"Annika's rehabilitation has progressed well and she looks forward to resuming competitive play next week in the Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika," said her agent, Mark Steinberg of IMG.
Since Sorenstam left with her injury, Lorena Ochoa, who won the Sybase Classic last week, supplanted her atop the Rolex Rankings.
Ochoa will be in the field next week, as will Morgan Pressel, who won the Kraft Nabisco Championship, Juli Inkster and sponsor invite, Michelle Wie, who is also returning to action after missing time with a wrist injury.
