MLB: Marlins claim Linden off waivers

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Florida Marlins have claimed outfielder Todd Linden off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.
Linden failed to clear waivers after the Giants designated him for assignment last week. He drove in just three runs and batted a mere .182 in 30 games this season.
In parts of five big league seasons with the Giants, Linden has batted .217 with seven home runs and 28 runs batted in.
The Marlins opened a roster spot by designating outfielder John Gall for assignment.
Gall had appeared in just three games for Florida this season and was hitless in four at-bats. He played parts of the last two seasons with St. Louis and is a career .245 hitter with two homers and 11 RBI in 53 at-bats.
