Nascar: AT&T wins injunction to put logo on Burton's Chevrolet
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - On Friday, AT&T was granted a preliminary injunction to put its logo on Jeff Burton's No.31 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet when a federal judge in Atlanta ruled in the company's favor.
Judge Marvin Shoob's ruling means the AT&T logo and not the Cingular logo will be on Burton's Chevrolet at Saturday night's Nextel All-Star Challenge.
Cingular has sponsored the No.31 since 2001 and was allowed to continue its sponsorship when Nextel become the series' title sponsor. After AT&T and Bell South merged in December the Cingular name was phased out and AT&T wanted to change the team's logo. NASCAR refused and AT&T went to court.
