NFL: Body of Pats player found
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - The body of New England Patriots defensive end Marquise Hill was pulled from Lake Pontchartrain on Monday.
Hill was missing after a jet-ski accident on Sunday night.
According to a report in the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Hill's body was recovered around 2:15 p.m. (et) and was taken to the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office.
Earlier authorities made it clear they had turned their search from a rescue to recovery mission after witnesses saw the former LSU standout go under the water without resurfacing.
A man and woman were first reported in the water Sunday night. The Orleans Levee Board Police reported that a passing boat picked up the man but he jumped back in the water to look for the woman. The woman was eventually rescued.
Hill, a New Orleans native, has played with the Patriots since being drafted out of LSU in 2004. He was a member of LSU's national championship-winning club in 2003 and played in 13 games with the Pats over the last three seasons.
