WTA: Mauresmo reaches final; Jankovic pulls out in Strasbourg

Strasbourg, France (Sports Network) - Top-seeded heavy French favorite Amelie Mauresmo landed in Saturday's final, while second-seeded Serbian Jelena Jankovic pulled out of her scheduled semifinal bout at the $175,00 Strasbourg International tennis event, a final French Open tune-up.
The former world No. 1 and reigning Wimbledon champion Mauresmo held off her fifth-seeded fellow Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 6-3 on the red clay at Ligue d'Alsace de Tennis.
The two-time Grand Slam champion Mauresmo is seeking her second title of the year and 25th of her career. She's 24-21 in 45 career finals, including 1-1 this season.
The world No. 4 Jankovic, meanwhile, withdrew from her match against sixth- seeded Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues due to an illness. Jankovic was last week's titlist in Rome, where she upended French Open runner-up Svetlana Kuznetsova in the finale.
Medina Garrigues, via the walkover, advanced to her 10th career final. She's 6-3 in her title matches and will appear in her first final of 2007.
The 27-year-old Mauresmo is 4-0 lifetime against the 24-year-old Medina Garrigues.
