Spanish Soccer: Red-hot Madrid just three wins away from title

Madrid, Spain (Sports Network) - Real Madrid has won eight of its last nine games, including its last five, to not only climb back into the title picture but to jump into La Liga's top spot with three games remaining.
Now, Fabio Capello's side is just three wins away from claiming its first league title in four years, and that stretch run starts Saturday at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu when Deportivo comes calling.
Roberto Carlos rescued all three points for Madrid last weekend as he scored in the game's final minutes to hand his club a 3-2 win against Recreativo, keeping Madrid atop the table.
Deportivo, meanwhile, has little left to play for over the remaining three games of the season. The club is currently in 13th in the league standings, 11 points clear of the relegation zone and 10 points out of a spot in the UEFA Cup. Although Joaquin Caparros' side is stuck hopelessly in the middle of the table, expect a strong effort from Deportivo as they will try to duplicate their 2-0 win against Madrid earlier this season. They don't have much left to gain this campaign, but they can certainly put a big dent in Madrid's title hopes.
