Europea PGA Tour: Daly out of BMW International Open

Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - John Daly, the 2001 winner, withdrew from this week's BMW International Open, citing personal reasons.
The tournament website reported that Daly informed event organizers Tuesday night that he could not leave the United States due to personal reasons.
"We are very sad that John won't be taking part, but we understand his decision," said tournament director, Marco Kaussler. "We hope that his private situation will resolve itself quickly and very much hope that he will be back taking part in the BMW International Open next year."
Two weeks ago, Daly showed up at the second round of the St. Jude Classic in Memphis with scratch marks on his cheeks. News outlets reported Daly told authorities his wife tried to stab him with a steak knife.
"While I slept at home last night, I was the victim of an assault by my wife," Daly's statement at the time said.
His wife countered that Daly attacked her first and the two have agreed to split.
Daly is still committed to next week's Buick Open on the PGA Tour.
