NFL: Saints ink DT Clancy
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Saints signed defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy to a three-year contract Thursday.
Clancy spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals and started 11 games, notching 37 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.
"We're happy to have Kendrick as a member of the Saints," said executive vice president/general manager Mickey Loomis. "We feel that he will improve our depth at the defensive tackle position. A player of his experience is a welcome addition to our club and we're eager to see him competing on the field."
Clancy has played eight years in the league with Pittsburgh, Arizona and the New York Giants, tallying 106 tackles and three sacks.
The Saints also released rookie long snapper Pat MacDonald.
