NFL: Giants ink G Piller
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The New York Giants Thursday signed guard Zach Piller to a contract.
Piller, who played the first eight years of his career in Tennessee, has appeared in 87 career games, 58 of which were starts.
Last season, Piller started three games before suffering an ankle injury on September 24 at Miami. The Titans waived him on February 21 before he signed with Detroit on March 26 but got cut on May 2.
Originally selected by Tennessee as a third-round draft pick in 1999 as the 81st overall selection, Piller played as a reserve guard for two-plus seasons before becoming a starter.
