French Soccer: Bordeaux tries to hold on to European spot

Toulouse, France (Sports Network) - The race for the final spots in Europe has taken center stage on France's final weekend, with four teams fighting it out for two places.
The final Champions League qualifying spot is still up for grabs, but Lens can put an end to that with a win at relegation-bound Troyes. That leaves the final place in the UEFA Cup as the most likely option for European soccer for three teams, Bordeaux, Rennes and Toulouse.
Two of those teams will get together at Stadium Municipal on Saturday as Bordeaux, who currently holds the final spot, visits Toulouse, who is just two points back. A win by Bordeaux would lock up the last place, while Toulouse must take all three points and get a little help.
Bordeaux coach Ricardo will have to do without Marouane Chamakh, one of the team's top strikers, due to suspension, while Carlos Henrique, Franck Jurietti and Julien Faubert are all out with injury.
Should Bordeaux fall to Toulouse, the door would open for Rennes, who come into Saturday's action with a one-point edge on Toulouse, and who would grab the UEFA Cup place with a win at Lille and a Bordeaux loss or draw.
