WTA: Li pulls out of Wimbledon
Wimbledon, England (Sports Network) - China's Na Li announced her withdrawal from Wimbledon 2007 on Thursday, citing a rib injury.
Li was penciled in as the 18th seed at the All England Club, where she reached the quarterfinals in her main draw debut here a year ago. She became the first-ever Chinese player to land in the Wimbledon round of eight.
The 25-year-old Li joins a growing list of withdrawals that already includes Russians Anastasia Myskina and Vera Zvonareva. Myskina was the 2004 French Open champ.
Wimbledon '07 will commence Monday.
